This Sunday is our second Sunday during the season of Advent. We will continue our sermon series considering various Old Testament texts that anticipate the coming of the Messiah for God’s people.

Our text in view will be Deuteronomy 18, where Moses declares that God is going to raise up a prophet for His people. A prophet from among them. A prophet who is going to speak to them on God’s behalf. A prophet who is going to mediate between God and God’s people, lest they experience His terrible wrath. A prophet who God’s people will be held accountable for whether or not they respond to Him, and trust in Him.

We will look at how Jesus fulfills this role. How He reveals the glory of God to His people, and how they are to trust in Him to be restored to a right relationship with God.
