Greetings James River family,

This Sunday is our first worship gathering together after Advent, and the holidays, and New Years (and a weather cancellation). And it represents an attempt to get back into our typical rhythm as a church.

During advent, we walked through the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke, culminating with birth narrative on Christmas.

This Sunday, we will continue our journey through Luke’s gospel, and we will meet 2 new characters – Simeon and Anna – in Luke 2:21-38. Characters whose lives are marked by hopeful anticipation, and by joyful celebration.

If you get a chance, read through it a time or 2 this week to prepare your heart in anticipation of gathering together under it on Sunday!
