This Sunday, we will continue our journey through 1 Kings, looking at Rehoboam and Jeroboam, in chapters 12-14.
Solomon intends for his son Rehoboam to become king of Israel. But after his death, the nation defects, and rejects Rehoboam as their king, and rallies behind Jeroboam (a former official in Solomon’s government). And conflict ensues between Rehoboam (and the people that follow him) and Jeroboam (and the people that follow him).
We will consider the necessity of repentance, and the reality of God’s judgment. And why it is so important to listen humbly when we receive counsel.
