This Sunday, we’ll be hearing from 1 Timothy 2:1-7.
In the passage, Paul instructs Timothy to shepherd the people of God to be diligent and faithful in prayer. They are to pray for leaders and people in authority. And as they do, they are to aspire to live well under their authority – peacefully and quietly.
Paul points out that Jesus loves everyone, and wants everyone to be be saved. And that He has demonstrated this love by giving His life as a ransom for them on the cross. And Paul commits to teaching and proclaiming this gospel wherever he has the opportunity.
Together, we’ll consider what it looks like to have a godly prayer life – in view of the character and heart of God, and in view of the gospel of Christ.
