This Sunday, we’ll be in one of the more controversial passages in the entire Bible – 1 Timothy 2:8-15.
During the course of church history, this text has been weaponized by some, seeking to marginalize and do violence to women. And it has been disregarded and rejected by some, who simply don’t like what it says.
Together, we’ll consider what it says – both to men, and to women. We’ll consider how the Bible elevates the status of women, and how it calls them to meaningful ministry. And we’ll consider how the Bible calls men to sacrificial leadership in the home and in the church – so that women can have space to thrive, and to lean into Biblical femininity.
