This Sunday, we’ll be hearing from the minor prophet Zephaniah. Whose message could be distilled into the following points:

  • The judgment of God is coming against the sin of the world.
  • The judgment of God is coming against your sin.
  • God’s blessing and restoration is coming to you who trust Him.
  • God’s blessing and restoration is coming to your enemies who trust Him.
  • It is a two-fold message of judgment and mercy. Affliction and comfort.

We will consider how the judgment of God is cause for hope and patience. And how it is also cause for fear and trembling. And how the mercy of God is cause for celebration and joy. And how it is also a call to humility and love.
