This Sunday, we will continue to work through the minor prophets, and begin in the first of 3 post-exilic prophets – Haggai.
Haggai confronts the people of Israel for investing all of their time and resources in rebuilding their own homes after the exile, and neglecting the temple of God. He calls them to be faithful to rebuild the temple, and promises that the future temple will be even more glorious than the first.
Haggai is rich with spiritual application for us today. We’ll consider what it looks like leverage our lives for the glory of God, rather than the glory of self. We’ll consider the glory of Jesus Christ – the true temple of the New Covenant. And we’ll consider how God is working to defeat His enemies, and establish His Kingdom, where His people will live with Him forever, under His rule.
