This Sunday, we will look at the parable of the rich fool, from Luke 12:13-21. After someone comes to complain to Jesus that he hasn’t gotten his share of inheritance, Jesus tells a story designed to illustrate the dangers of greed and love of money. There is a farmer whose crop is so abundant that he has to build larger barns just to accommodate it. And once he does, he is convinced that he will never need anything from anyone ever again. Yet, ironically, that is the very night that God requires his soul from him.
We will consider together how we can strive to love Jesus more than money. And live for eternity, rather than this life. And be seek to be rich toward God, instead of merely financially rich.
See you Sunday.
