The ministry is a place of calm and love for children who are in difficult circumstances. Because of the health restrictions, most of the camps this year were day camps, but children still got to hear the gospel, learn about the creator and experience the beauties of nature the camp offers. Joyce said about half the children in their community are being raised by grandparents, so they need prayers for physical strength and wisdom to guide them and provide for them in these challenging times.
Praise God that the high school seniors were able to have an overnight camp week and be launched into adult life with spiritual encouragement. A highlight is making leather key chains, and Jim is the leader of this craft.
Praise God a new missionary couple has joined the staff and will be working with the family ministry, which is very important to the Whites as they minister to their neighbors.
Praise God the blueberries planted on the White’s land were a success and survived their first year. They are now preparing the plants to survive the winter and hope they continue to grow and produce more fruit in the coming years.
Praise God the Whites were chosen to receive an agricultural grant to have a greenhouse built on their property. They will be able to grow vegetables which are much needed in their area. The stores have been in short supply, so they pray to improve their own diet and that of their neighbors. Many receive EBT cards, but have little choice other than canned foods and cereal because fresh food is not available.
Praise God for the work of the camp and the beacon of hope and light it is for the community that has been hard hit by the health crisis, the economic crisis, and the racial tensions. Pray God continues to keep the camp staff and the White’s family healthy. They have all avoided the virus and been well. Continue to pray for Joyce’s health and relief from pain as she ministers at home, at camp, and in her community. Pray for Jim as they have several major building projects, including a new barn, he is working to complete at the camp.
