Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
Matt Boswell, Michael Bleecker, Matt Papa
Come behold the wondrous mystery
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven's praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing, in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ, who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us
Come behold the wondrous mystery
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living, in His suffering
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law; in Him we stand
Come behold the wondrous mystery
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father's plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured, love untold
Come behold the wondrous mystery
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e'er restrain Him
Praise the Lord; He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes
What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes

Psalm 32:
How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven! The one whose sin is covered!
How joyful is the one whom the Lord does not charge with iniquity! And in whose spirit is no deceit!
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I confessed my transgressions to the Lord, and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Therefore let all the faithful pray to you! You are our hiding place. You protect us from trouble, and surround us with songs of deliverance.
Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous! Sing, all you who are upright in heart!
Jesus Strong and Kind

Jesus said that if I thirst
I should come to Him
No one else can satisfy
I should come to Him
Jesus said, if I am weak
I should come to Him
No one else can be my strength
I should come to Him
For the Lord is good and faithful
He will keep us day and night
We can always run to Jesus
Jesus, strong and kind
Jesus said that if I fear
I should come to Him
No one else can be my shield
I should come to Him
For the Lord is good and faithful
He will keep us day and night
We can always run to Jesus
Jesus, strong and kind
Jesus said, if I am lost
He will come to me
And He showed me on that cross
He will come to me
For the Lord is good and faithful
He will keep us day and night
We can always run to Jesus
Jesus, strong and kind

Poem by Paul Munden
Based on Matthew 11:25-26:
At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.”
Oh Lord,
You have made your Gospel
Available to the small, the weak
The childlike
It is hidden from the wise and proud
In believing you, we should not expect their approval
But, we can have yours!

Question 16
What is sin?
Sin is rejecting or ignoring God in the world he created, rebelling against him by living without reference to him, not being or doing what he requires in his law—resulting in our death and the disintegration of all creation.
Reformation Hymn
Bob Kauflin, Chris Anderson
We will trust God’s Word alone
Where His perfect will is known
Our traditions shift like sand
While His Truth forever stands
We will live by faith alone
Clothed in merit not our own
All we claim is Jesus Christ
And His finished sacrifice
Glory be, glory be to God alone
Through the church He redeemed
And made His own
He has freed us, He will keep us
Till we’re safely home
Glory be, glory be to God alone
We are saved by grace alone
Undeserved, yet freely shown
No accomplishment on earth
Can achieve the second birth
We will stand on Christ alone
The unyielding Cornerstone
Nations rage and devils roar
Still he reigns forevermore
Glory be, glory be to God alone
Through the church He redeemed
And made His own
He has freed us, He will keep us
Till we’re safely home
Glory be, glory be to God alone
Sermon
2 Timothy 1:1-2
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my beloved child:
Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
All I Have is Christ
Jordan Kauflin
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life
Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
O Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life
