How would you describe Timothy’s family, and the experiences and relationships that he had in it?  How are they similar or different from your own?

How would you describe Paul’s relationship with Timothy?  Why do you think that their relationship looked like this?  How can we, as church members, be cultivating relationships that are deep, and real, and helpful for our souls?

 

How would you assess yourself in the area of proactively mentoring and discipling others?  How would you assess yourself in the area of seeking out mentorship from others?  How can you grow in either (or both) of these areas?

 

What do you think Timothy was experiencing in Ephesus that would have prompted Paul to write a letter like this?  (cf. Acts 19-20, Ephesians)
