If you could choose one word to describe your prayer life, what would it be? Why did you choose that word?

What requests does Paul pray for in this passage? What do these requests reveal about his heart, and his priorities?

Paul begins his prayer by addressing God as his Father (Ephesians 3:14-15). What are the implications of the reality that God is our Father, and that we are His children?

Paul prays that the Ephesian believers would comprehend the magnitude of the love of Christ. What do you find to be most significant, and most compelling, about the love of Christ?

Which of these phrases (if any) stick out as being most significant, or most meaningful? What is the meaning and significance of each?

  • “strengthened with power through [God’s] Spirit in your inner being”
  • “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith”
  • “being rooted and grounded in love”
  • “the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge”
  • “that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”

Why do you think Paul concludes his prayer the way that he does in Ephesians 3:20-21?
