Women's Weekend
The Women's Weekend is this Friday and Saturday! We are looking forward to seeing you there! If you have not yet responded to the invitation, please let us know if you're coming. We have so much fellowship and learning from one another planned!
We will be meeting at the church building. Friday evening, 6:30pm-8:30pm, Saturday, 8:30am-2:00pm.

Coalition Against Poverty in Suffolk Fundraiser
Sunday September 19
CAPS has a take-out lunch fundraiser to support their ministry that provides relief for people experiencing poverty and homelessness. We will enjoy lunch together (those who have purchased meals in advance) after corporate worship on Sunday. Contact Tim Bowden for more details.
Missions Team Meeting
The next Missions Team meeting will be Monday, September 20 at 8:00pm. We meet on the third Monday of each month via Zoom to discuss how the members of JRCC can be equipped to share the gospel as well as support missionaries around the world. Anyone with an interest can join us here:

Fall Picnic

We are planning a fall picnic for our friends and community on September 26. Invite your friends!
Burgers will be provided. But we need your help to provide sides, deserts and drinks! Please sign up to help here. Contact Jason Sleichter if you have any questions.
Relief Efforts
During the month of September, we have opportunities to support relief efforts for Afghan refugees (through Barnabas Aid) and people affected by recent hurricanes (through Operation Blessing). If you'd like to help with either effort, you can give via check (and specify in the memo line), or give online (and specify the particular fund).
First Aid CPR Class
Saturday, October 2
10am-4pm
At the church building.
JRCC is hosting a first aid and CPR course. The classes are instructed by a Newport News Police Captain, who has been with Christian organizations and active in the church. The certification is good for two years.
First Aid is 3 hours, for $25. CPR (infant, youth, adult, AED) is 3 hours, for $40. (If there are 10 or more, the prices are reduced to $20 & $30.)
If you would like to participate but need childcare (or if you'd like to volunteer to help with childcare), please let us know.
