Ben grew up locally in Smithfield, VA. He became a Christian at a young age, through the ministry of his parents, and his local church. As a student at James Madison University, he was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, where he began to grow in his faith, and discern a call into pastoral ministry. After graduating, Ben served on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, and then completed a Masters degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville. He came to James River Community Church to serve as pastor in 2016. He and his wife Jeri have three children.
