Ben grew up locally in Smithfield, VA. He became a Christian at a young age, through the ministry of his parents, and his local church. As a student at James Madison University, he was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, where he began to grow in his faith, and discern a call into pastoral ministry. After graduating, Ben served on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, and then completed a Masters degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville. He came to James River Community Church to serve as pastor in 2016. He is married to his wife Jeri (2018), and they have three children - Baxter (2019), Theo (2021), and Anna (2023).
