This Sunday, we will take a look at Luke 9:37-45 – at the story of Jesus healing a little boy with an unclean spirit. A man brings his son to Jesus, and tells him that none of Jesus’ disciples could cast out the unclean spirit that has been tormenting him. Jesus laments the faithlessness of their generation, and proceeds to heal the boy himself.

We will consider Christ’s authority over all sin and death and spiritual forces. And how Jesus cares for all people, including little children who are suffering. And ultimately, how Jesus voluntarily suffers in the place of His people, so that they can be saved from eternal suffering, to enjoy life with God forever.
