This Sunday, we will look at one of the more familiar parables in all of Scripture – that of the Good Samaritan. Jesus is approached by a lawyer, who asks him who his neighbor is (and by extension, who exactly he is obligated to love).
In response, Jesus tells a story of a man who is attacked, injured, and left to die. And, while 2 religious leaders pass him by without helping, a Samaritan man stops and helps him – at great expense to himself.
Together, we will consider what it looks like to demonstrate Christlike, costly love of neighbor. And we will consider how the gospel enables us to do just that.
