This Sunday, we will be hearing from Luke 10:38-42. In the text in view, Jesus is invited over to the home of 2 sisters – Mary and Martha. Mary proceeds to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to him, leaving Martha to do all of the preparations and serving herself. When she complains to Jesus, he corrects her, and tells her that Mary has actually chosen the better portion.

We will consider how we, as Christians, can find a healthy balance between serving Jesus and enjoying Jesus. How we can listen to Him, and spend time with Him, and enjoy the grace that is ours in the gospel. And then, as we do, we’ll consider how we can be mobilized to serve Him as a result.
