Power in the Blood
Lewis E. Jones
Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
Oh, there’s power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
Power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide
There's wonderful power in the blood
Oh, there’s power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
Power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There's wonderful power in the blood
Oh, there’s power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
Power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Call to Worship
Based on Psalm 41
Blessed are those who have regard for the weak! The Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
The Lord protects them, and keeps them alive. He does not give them over to the desire of their enemies. He will sustain them, and restore them.
My enemies speak maliciously of me. They whisper together, and imagine the worst for me. Even my closest friend, in whom I have trusted, with whom I have shared meals - even he has lifted his heel against me.
But the Lord has been gracious to us! He has upheld us, and invited us into His presence. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.
His Love Can Never Fail
E. S. Hall, Christopher Miner
I do not ask to see the way
My feet will have to tread
But only that my soul may feed
Upon the living Bread
Tis better far that I should walk
By faith close to His side
I may not know the way I go
But oh, I know my Guide
His love can never fail
His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
And if my feet would go astray
They cannot, for I know
That Jesus guides my faltering steps
As joyfully I go
And though I may not see His face
My faith is strong and clear
That in each hour of sore distress
My Savior will be near
His love can never fail
His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
I will not fear, though darkness come
Abroad o'er all the land
If I may only feel the touch
Of His own loving hand
And though I tremble when I think
How weak I am, and frail
My soul is satisfied to know
His love can never fail
His love can never fail
His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail
Congregational Prayer
From the Book of Common Worship
Almighty God,
You have raised our Lord Jesus from the grave, and have crowned him Lord of all.
We confess that we have not bowed before him, or acknowledged his rule in our lives as we ought. We have gone along with the way of the world, and we have failed to give him glory.
Please forgive us. Please cleanse us from sin, that we may be your faithful people. Help us to trust in Christ, who rules the world, and is the head of the church, his body. Help us to obey your commands, for your glory, and for our joy.
Amen.

Question 23
Why must the Redeemer be truly God?
That because of his divine nature his obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective; and also that he would be able to bear the righteous anger of God against sin and yet overcome death.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Helen Howarth Lemmel
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conquerors we are!
His Word shall not fail you—He promised
Believe Him, and all will be well
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Thomas O. Chisholm
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
Luke 18:18-30
18 And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’” 21 And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” 22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. 24 Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” 27 But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” 28 And Peter said, “See, we have left our homes and followed you.” 29 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life.”
Your Great Name We Praise
Bob Kauflin
Immortal, invisible God only wise
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most holy, most glorious the Ancient of Days
Almighty, victorious Your great name we praise
Unresting, unhasting and silent as light
Not wanting or wasting You rule us in might
Your justice like mountains high soaring above
Your clouds which are fountains of goodness and love
Most Holy, Most glorious
The Ancient of Days
Almighty, victorious
Your great name we praise
All life comes from You Lord to both great and small
In all life You live Lord, the true life of all
We blossom and flourish, but quickly grow frail
We wither and perish, but You never fail
Most Holy, Most glorious
The Ancient of Days
Almighty, victorious
Your great name we praise
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light
Your angels adore You all veiling their sight
All praise we will render, oh Father of grace
Till one day in splendor we see face to face
Most Holy, Most glorious
The Ancient of Days
Almighty, victorious
Your great name we praise
