This Sunday, we will be in the book of Nahum. A prophecy of God against the city of Nineveh.
God accuses the citizens of Nineveh of sinning against Him, by worshiping idols and breaking His laws. And He accuses them of sinning against their neighbor, by engaging in brutal violence and deceit.
And God promises to destroy them once and for all.
Together, we will consider what this book might be saying to us. How all of humanity is guilty of high-handed sin against God. But, we have a choice. We can remain there, and be destroyed like Nineveh. Or we can repent of our Nineveh-like sin, pride, idolatry, and violence, and come to Jesus in repentance and faith, and enjoy God’s grace.
